cabins
We love mountain & beach cabins. From San Juan Islands to the sunny Idaho hills, our family time is best and most often spent in nature, as is most of our clients. Cabins are sacred spaces. Where we connect to ourselves, our hobbies, our health and our families. Creating spaces that comfort and enchant is an essential piece of all that wonder. Often our clients want a laid back, relaxed and zen feel to their family spaces, with polished touches that add resonance and whimsy. I am inspired from ideas from Leanne Ford, Kelly Wearstler and Nicole Hollis’s work. They all possess an enchanting blend of vision/art and meditative restraint.
I love the west coast, wabi-sabi, surf, ski, relaxed yet elegant vibe to cabins. The emphasis should always be about space and place, integrating local artisans, enhanced materiality, local plants and personalized family touches and muses. The spaces should be designed for comfort and community.
I am inspired (especially in the PNW) by Joseph Dirand, Nicole Hollis, monochrome, global influences, japandi, yoga, global surf shacks, pacific rim influences, PNW vibe, minimalism, zen & brutalism.
